Yarmouth police are investigating the death of Scott T. Rose of South Yarmouth.
Yarmouth police were called to 910 Alewife Cir. in South Yarmouth at 9:12 p.m. Friday to help a man that wasn’t breathing. When police arrived on the scene they found Scott T. Rose not breathing on the floor. Officers performed CPR on Rose until the Yarmouth Fire Department arrived and took over with Advanced Life Support. Rose was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Yarmouth Police Department is investigating Rose's death. The Yarmouth Police Department is investigating 9 break-ins at various local businesses in less than a week.
Yarmouth police responded to a total of 5 commercial break-ins Sunday January 13 and four previous commercial break-ins Wednesday January 9, according to a press release. Police believe the break-ins are connected and are searching for the suspect. Businesses targeted by the thief Sunday include Allie Waste, Yardscape, Quantum Mechanics and Lemco Marine. Police say all the break-ins occurred in the same general time period, included forced entry and small amounts of cash were stolen in each incident. Yarmouth police are advising business owners to secure overnight cash in safes or remove it from the building, properly lock all doors, activate interior lights, check alarm systems and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Yarmouth Police arrested a Marstons Mills woman and CVS employee for stealing prescription drugs from the pharmacy.
Yarmouth Police arrested 27-year-old Nicole L. Morrison Saturday afternoon for allegedly stealing $3,500 worth of prescription drugs from the CVS pharmacy she worked for on Station Ave. in Yarmouth. The CVS security team discovered the alleged theft and the company fired Morrison. Morrison was arraigned this morning in Barnstable District Court.

A Barnstable man was arrested for breaking into a home after police found him hiding in a women's bathroom in a restaurant.
Yarmouth Police arrested Alexander Mejia Rosen-Schuh, 18, of 1662 Hyannis Rd., Barnstable for breaking and entering attempt to commit a crime, police said. Police responded to a break-in after neighbors alerted police about a suspicious person near a home on Cleveland Way in West Yarmouth. Police arrived on scene with a K-9 unit and tracked Rosen-Schuh to a women's bathroom in a nearby restaurant, police said.
Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos died in action in Afghanistan on July 23, 2009. He is the son of the Yarmouth Police Deputy Chief Steven Xiarhos.
Governor Deval Patrick yesterday joined family members and legislators to sign H. 4156, “An Act Designating A Certain Overpass in the town of Yarmouth as the Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos Veterans Memorial Overpass.” The legislation will rename the overpass on North Dennis Road spanning Route 6 in Yarmouth after Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Yarmouth Police announced a Level 3 sex offender has moved into the South Yarmouth community.
Peter B. Eldridge Sr., 54, a convicted level 3 sex offender was recently released to the community and is now living at 130 Cranberry Lane in South Yarmouth. Eldridge is not currently wanted by the police. Eldridge is 5’ 11" 200 lbs and has hazel eyes and brown hair. He has been convicted of sex crimes on a child under 14 in 1990 and again in 2010. Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 6, §§ 178C-178Q, the individual who appears on this notification has been designated as a Level 3 Sex Offender by the Sex Offender Registry Board. On Saturday, July 21 at 11am the 3rd Annual Memorial Motorcycle Ride for the Fallen will kick off in honor of the 13 fallen soldiers, sailors, and Marines with ties to Cape Cod who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the ongoing War on Terror. At a time when motor vehicle traffic volume and crashes traditionally increase—the Yarmouth Police Department will deploy additional personnel to protect public safety during this New Year’s Holiday weekend and travel period. Police worked together with the SWAT team to raid a motel room at the Yankee Village on Route 28 in Yarmouth.
On Thursday, Sept. 8 at 8:30pm members of the Yarmouth and Barnstable Police Departments conducted a high-risk drug distribution raid at room 210 of the Yankee Village Motel on Route 28 in West Yarmouth resulting in three arrests, according to a Yarmouth Police press release. Two West Yarmouth men were arrested.
On Thursday, August 11, 2011 at approximately 5:50 AM a team of Yarmouth and Barnstable Police Officers conducted a pre-dawn high-risk raid at two rental apartments on College Road in West Yarmouth. The pre-planned operation was conducted by members of the Yarmouth Police Detective Division—the Barnstable Police Department Detective Division and Drug Enforcement Unit—and the Barnstable and Yarmouth Police Street Crime Unit.
