Two occupants were transported to Cape Cod Hospital today after the rollover crash.

West Barnstable Fire Department Chief Joe Maruca was professionally designated as a “Chief Fire Officer” by the The Commission on Professional Credentialing.

West Barnstable Fire Department Chief Joe Maruca was professionally designated as a “Chief Fire Officer” (CFO), Maruca announced on Monday. The Commission on Professional Credentialing met on March 6 to officially confer the designation of Chief Fire Officer. Chief Maruca is one of 854 CFO’s worldwide. The Commission on Professional Credentialing awards the CFO designation only after an individual successfully meets all of the organizations stringent criteria.  The process includes an assessment of the applicant’s education, experience, professional development, technical competences, contributions to the profession, and community involvement.  In addition, applicants are required to identify a future professional development plan. …
