Cape Cod Chamber Receives Grant for Tourism Council
The Senate passed funding for regional tourism councils including the Cape Cod Chamber.
On Friday the Senate passed a balanced budget along with $6 million in funding for regional tourism councils including money for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerece, Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) announced. “The Cape Cod Chamber is grateful for the recognition of the Massachusetts Senate by funding regional tourism marketing at an equitable level again this year,” said Wendy Northcross, CEO of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and chair of the statewide Regional Tourism Councils. “The tourism industry is helping Massachusetts achieve an economic recovery and has led job growth in the Commonwealth, accounting for 4,800 new jobs in February, or 53 percent of the new jobs created in Massachusetts.
