Town Councilor Update

Councilor June Daley has an update from Precinct 11.

By Town Councilor June Daley Super storm Sandy arrived at my residence with quiet a punch. The powerful wind blew down three panels of stockade fence. The wind then decapitated a large oak tree and sent it flying into the utility wires knocking out power to my neighborhood. I was amazed the heavy tree top did not take down the utility pole also. The snapped wires were live and they began to burn the oak tree. I called NStar right away and reported the situation. At about 8 PM work crews took on the task of removing the tree from the wires in the rain. Early the next morning crews were on scene to begin the repair to the utility lines. By one o’clock the neighborhood was up and running again. I thank NStar for doing a great job!   On …

Letter to the Editor: Thank you Precinct 11

A letter from council-elect June Daley in precinct 11.

I am writing first to express my gratitude to the voters from Precinct 11.  I am humbled by the overwhelming support that I received at the polls on this past Tuesday.  It will be an honor to serve as the Town Councilor from Precinct 11 for the next two years.  I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported me in my election from the bottom of my heart. Next, for those of you who did not vote for me, I hope to earn your support.  I know that just like my election, I must work hard to earn anything.  I will start by first seeking to earn your trust and then I’ll work on earning your confidence.  Please remember that all of us in this precinct cannot always agree on everything.  So I hope you all will agree with me and allow us all to …

Letter to the Editor: Vote for New Blood in Precinct 11 Election

A West Barnstable resident calls for change.

After analyzing recently published statements proffered by Precinct 11 Barnstable Town Councilor Henry Farnham regarding his vote to oust John Klimm as Town Manager, one may deduce that Farnham had a momentary lapse of judgment in that instance. However, was that really the only fleeting period of less than lucid thinking on his part? Farnham has not performed his "due diligence” in the best interests of the voters and residents of Barnstable.  Farnham’s own words seem to indicate he believes Klimm was some sort of control freak in the manner Klimm executed his duties as town manager.  Farnham was not seeing concrete reality, when in fact Klimm was adeptly doing his job as the chief administrator of the Town. The Councilor is apparently …

Yes, I agree that Mr. Farnham has been focusing upon his own agenda during the past two years, but I do not really know if June Daley is the lesster of two evils in this race, but maybe. Also, why is it that Mr. Farnham never finished college? The Cape Cod Times says he has three years of college, but never completed the final year, that is very odd indeed.   more ›

Council Candidate Daley Campaigning in 3 Villages

Precinct 11 Candidate is getting ready to knock on doors.

June Daley, a candidate for the Barnstable Town Council from Precinct 11, announced on Wednesday that she has expanded her campaign into the precinct’s three villages. “My campaign for the position of Precinct 11 Town Councilor is now in a very high visibility mode," Daley said in a press release. "Our efforts during the previous and current week are focused on activities where I can really expand my name recognition. In addition, through the increased visibility we are distributing bumper stickers and signing up campaign volunteers. It is a very exciting time for me.” The largest portion of Precinct 11 lies within the village of West Barnstable. June has been seen throughout West Barnstable on a regular basis since her debut during the …
