Hyannis Water Announces $4M Upgrade to System
Tomorrow there will be a ground breaking for the construction of two new water storage tanks and pump stations.
The Hyannis Water System announced on Thursday the construction of two new water storage tanks and pump stations at the Maher and Straightway Water Treatment Plants. The $4.1 million upgrade to the water system was recommended in the 2007 Hyannis Water System’s Master Plan. In addition to meeting new federal regulations for the ground water rule, the project will meet the needs for water storage now and into the future. The new tanks will better meet our fire protection requirements. After much study the Hyannis Water Board recommended the construction of two ground level tanks – one near the Maher treatment plant and one near the Straightway treatment plant.
