Electrical Fire Displaces Cape Crossroads Residents
Residents are displaced after an electrical fire on Monday night and Red Cross is helping those affected.
An electrical fire knocked out power to 28 units at Cape Crossroads Condos in Hyannis yesterday night, leaving about 30 to 60 people without a place to live, said Cape & Islands Red Cross Communication Director Kat Powers. The Town of Barnstable allowed residents to stay in their homes last night, however the Red Cross is facilitating a plan with the owner of the building on how best to help the 28 affected units, she said. The Cape Cod Times reported it may take up to a month to fix the power in the 30 unit building.
