In both instances, she takes pride in sweeping her fingers on a client's face and wants to make their brows sparkle.  When Baba was growing up she wanted to be a vet, but after 22 years in the beauty business one could say she has found her passion. Baba's enthusiasm, interest and amazing energy ooze from her when she talks shop.  Solstice's ninth birthday is this August and Baba said business just keeps getting better.  Baba said the new salon space below Puritan is practically perfect - it was the right space to make a move for. Travel Back in Time: Hyannis Armory [VIDEO]

Travel Back in Time with the Wednesday Patch Passport, to discover the history and roots of Barnstable.

The Town of Barnstable shaped John F. Kennedy's life and legacy. Barnstable is the largest, and only, city (yes, it is technically a city) on the Cape. The town, named after Devon Barnstaple, was first settled in 1638 after Bartholomew Gosnold explored the area in 1602. It was named an All American Town in 2007. Historically, people came to Barnstable for its industry - salt mills and clay. Today, tourism is its biggest draw and it's attracted high-profile visitors and residents. As we all know, the most famous family to summer in town are the Kennedys. The Kennedys still have their compound in Hyannis Port. The compound was the summer home of President John F. Kennedy and U.S. Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy. Perhaps one may say the Hyannis …

Hidden Gem: JFK Memorial Park

Discover a Hidden Gem in Barnstable that you may have driven by and never known it existed. Or maybe you have not visited this interesting spot in years. So take a little trip with Patch...we’ll show you the way.

The JFK Memorial Park on Lewis Bay off Ocean Street might be Barnstable's most beautiful Hidden Gem. Built by the citizens of Barnstable to commemorate Hyannis Port summer resident and 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy, the park offers beautiful rose gardens and a spectacular view of Lewis Bay. You can sit on the benches and watch the boats sail in the bay; picnic on the grounds or people watch. The JFK Memorial Park offers the perfect opportunity to commune with nature, reflect on Kennedy's legacy, or take a quiet break from an otherwise hectic Cape Cod summer.
