Barnstable Police Catch Alleged Illegal Dumper
Police caught on tape a Hyannis landscape company owner dumping on Mary Dunn Road. He faces charges for illegal dumping.
The ongoing trashing of Barnstable has been a concern of the Barnstable Police Department for the last several years. Recently, police have picked up efforts to catch illegal dumpers in the Fresh Holes area and on Mary Dunn Road. Police made headway in its efforts to curb illegal dumping with the use of surveillance in these areas and summonsed a local landscaper for illegal dumping. Mary Dunn Road, comprised of wooded hiking trails and watershed properties, has become a dumping ground for construction materials and trash. The recent summons is for dumping on Mary Dunn Road in Barnstable Village. On Friday, police summonsed Darkys Marichal, 39, of Hyannis and owner of Marichal Landscaping. They should make this guy clean up all of the trash and waste in that area. Not only what he dumped. He said it was an employee that did this without his knowledge. Still his company and his responsibility. i say it probably is not the first time his company did this.   more ›
