Barnstable Police Arrest 6 on Drug Charges

Barnstable police arrested 6 individuals on drug charges in a three-day period following multiple investigations.

During one investigation police conducted undercover buys at 19B Pine St. in Centerville, according to a press release. On Tuesday March 26 police executed a search warrant at the address and seized a half-pound of marijuana with a street value of $1,000, a digital scale and packaging materials. 33-year-old Brian Medeiros of Hyannis and 33-year-old Dylan Hayes of Weymouth were inside the home at the time of the raid. Medeiros was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.  Police found a bag of heroin and a loaded pistol on Hayes and arrested him as well. Two Arrested on Drug Charges at Barnstable Municipal Airport over the Weekend

Barnstable police arrested a Falmouth man Friday and a Cotuit teen Saturday on drug charges at the Barnstable municipal airport in separate incidents.

The Barnstable Street Crime Unit arrested two men Friday after Nantucket police alerted them to suspicious activity at the Nantucket airport, according to a press release from the Barnstable Police Department. Authorities met up with Matthew Chicoine, 21, of Falmouth and Russell Viera, 22, of Hyannis when their flight from Nantucket arrived in Hyannis at 7:36 p.m. According to police, Chicoine was in possession of $1,800 in cash, two small bags of marijuana and 12 suboxone at the time of his arrest. Viera was arrested on three outstanding probation violation default warrants. Chicoine was charged with possession of class B/suboxone with intent to distribute and possession of class D/marijuana with intent to distribute. Viera is being held …

Members of Alleged Drug Ring Arrested in Hyannis

Members of an alleged drug organization trafficking oxycodone from California to the Cape and Islands were arrested last week in Hyannis.

Barnstable detectives cracked down on an illegal oxycodone drug distribution chain last week in Hyannis. Since March detectives have been gathering information on a drug trafficking organization operating between California, Hyannis and Nantucket, according to official court documents.  The organization allegedly distributes thousands of oxycodone pills throughout Cape Cod and the Islands. Last week detectives learned that members of the organization had traveled from California to Hyannis with thousands of tablets destined for Nantucket.  According to the information gathered, members of the drug ring were scheduled to stay at the Days Inn in Hyannis.
