Barnstable Joins Smarter Cape Partnership
Barnstable is applying for a Community Innovation Challenge Grant.
Barnstable, along with several Cape towns, is joining forces with the Smarter Cape Partnership - Cape Cod Commission, Open Cape, Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Cape Cod Technology Council and Cape Cod Economic Development Council - to apply for the Community Innovation Challenge Grant. This grant, offered by the Executive Office for Administration and Finance, will provide funds to regionalize permitting systems using a new software platform. This service would automate the service for various permits, licenses and other applications; reducing costs and improving services in each town. Residents would have 24/7 access to the system and the ability to pay on line using credit cards and other methods. Each town can choose to participate in …
