Made on Cape Cod: Bum Boosa

Cape Cod native Sonja Seasley combined her interest in making natural products with her entrepreneurial spirit to start Bum Boosa, a company that makes a line of products out of bamboo and botanical ingredients.

Like many new mothers, Sonja Sheasley began paying attention to the ingredients list on things like skin care products when she had her two sons in 2003 and 2005. Not liking what she saw, she began to experiment with making her own natural products, by educating herself on herbs and essential oils and then making her own lotions, soaps, lip balms, insect repellents, and healing salves. She quickly turned her kitchen into her laboratory, and “eventually [she] decided to try to make [her] own baby wipes with a natural solution.” While researching recipes for homemade wipes, Sheasley learned of the negative environmental and health impacts of most of the wet wipes on the market: they are full of harsh chemical preservatives, and most are made…

Cape Cod Green Drinks Celebrates Earth Day At Cape Cod Beer

Cape Cod Green Drinks teams up with InsideOUT Cape Cod this Earth Day for a free and family-friendly event at Cape Cod Beer.

Barnstable residents interested in learning how to protect the environment can celebrate Earth Day with local merchants, artists and restaurants at Cape Cod Beer on Sunday - all find inspiration in making the earth a little bit greener. The Earth Day event from 11 am to 4 pm will feature green businesses, environmental non-profits and educational organizations, however expect to have some fun.  The event will feature live music by Molly Parmenter, Todd Nickerson and Brendan Princi and local food and beer.
