Video: Man Charged with Barnstable Bank Robberies Taken to Court

Police escorted 38-year-old Gerard T. Langley of Mashpee into Barnstable District Court this morning. Langley will be arraigned on two counts of armed robbery.

Langley and his girlfriend were arrested yesterday. Police believe the two robbed the Eastern Bank on Route 28 in Marstons Mills yesterday and the Bank of America in Hyannis less than two weeks ago. According to the Barnstable Police Department, Rogers and Langley confessed to both robberies in sworn statements.Police believe the couple's 11-month-old was with them at the time of both robberies.

Barnstable Police Arrest Two for Bank Robberies

Barnstable Police arrested a 38-year-old Mashpee man and his girlfriend for two bank robberies in Barnstable. Police believe an 11-month-old was with the couple at the time of the incidents.

Thursday afternoon members of the Barnstable Police Department responded to a reported bank robbery at the Eastern Bank on Route 28 in Marstons Mills. According to a BPD press release, a white male entered the bank and handed a teller a note saying he was robbing the bank. The man then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. During an investigation of Thursday afternoon’s robbery, Barnstable Police Detective Valerie Hemmila found evidence linking 38-year-old Gerard T. Langley of Mashpee to the recent Bank of America robbery in Hyannis. Within hours detectives located Langley driving on Cotuit Road in Mashpee. At approximately 2:30 p.m. Gerard T. Janice I understand what your saying, but other individuals on Patch.com doesn't & obviously robbing a bank, a person ect...isn't the answer to societies financial problems, I'm not making any excuses for what they did, but some people feel like they have no choice & they need to survive, but it's so sad that this occurred, especially now a days there are a lot of resources ect.. that help …   more ›

Barnstable Police Searching for Bank Robber

Barnstable Police are searching for the man who robbed the Bank of America at 291 Barnstable Road at around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Barnstable Police Sgt. Sean Sweeney says they are looking for a white male that was wearing a dark blue or black Boston Red Sox hat, a dark blue sweatshirt with grey sleeves, blue jeans, and white sneakers.   Sweeney said it is not yet known if the robber presented a weapon or was given cash. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was chased for a distance by a K-9 unit.

Police Catch Alleged TD Bank Robber

TD Bank on Rte. 28 in Centerville was robbed today at 1:30 p.m. By 3:30 p.m. the suspect was apprehended.

Using old fashioned detective work, Barnstable police officers captured a Centerville man hours after he allegedly robbed TD Bank on Rte. 28 in Centerville today.  At 1:30 p.m. today, Michael Nobre, 48, of Centerville, allegedly walked into TD Bank, approached one of the tellers, and presented a note demanding cash, according to a Barnstable Police Department press release. The note also indicated that the suspect had a gun, although one was not shown, said police. Nobre was allegedly given a quantity of cash and immediately left the bank.
