Like itsMore counterparts, it has a selectman style governance separate from the town municipality, provides many of the same services including water, response to spills, leaks, electrical problems and downed wires, rescue services and accident response, well being checks, lockouts, lock ins and educational programming plus its firefighting duties. 

It also provides water and ice rescue. 

Hyannis Fire Department

Hyannis Fire Department, founded in 1896, is the oldest in the Town of Barnstable. Like the rest of the departments,More it's run with a selectman style governance separate from the town municipality. Hyannis serves residents living within 8.9 square miles village. It is the busiest of the fire departments, which is not surprising considering it serves the most densely populated area in town.

Like its counterparts, it provides many of the same services including provides response to spills, leaks, electrical problems and down wires, rescue services and accident response, well being checks, lockouts, lock ins and educational programming plus its firefighting duties. 

The Hyannis Fire Department also provides water and ice rescue. 

In addition to these services, it puts on a yearly doc-u-drama for high school students to raise awareness about drunk driving and sponsors a kids day with the other four fire districts and the Barnstable police.

West Barnstable Fire Department

Founded in 1949, the West Barnstable Fire Department has a selectman style governance separate from theMore town municipality. It provides fire and rescue services to its 12.9 square mile village as well as manages the water supply.

Like its counterparts, it provides many of the same services including response to spills, leaks, electrical problems and downed wires, rescue services and accident response, well being checks, lockouts, lock ins and educational programming plus its firefighting duties.  

West Barnstable is the least busy of the fire departments within Barnstable. 

In addition to these services, it sponsors a kids day with the other four fire districts and the Barnstable police.

Cotuit Fire Department

Established in 1926, the Cotuit Fire Department is run as a selectman style government separate from the townMore municipality. It serves 6.6 square miles within the village and provides a variety of services including water, response to spills, leaks, electrical problems and down wires, rescue services and accident response, well being checks, lockouts and lock ins and educational programming plus its firefighting duties. 

Barnstable Fire Departments also provide emergency medical services at the advanced life support level. 

In addition to these services, the Cotuit Fire Department also sponsors a kids day with the other four fire districts and the Barnstable police. 

Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department

In 1926 the Centerville-Osterville- Marstons Mills fire department came together to serve the residents andMore businesses of the 21.6 square mile fire district, the largest and second busiest in town, and has two fire houses. One fire house is located on 28 in Centerville and the other is located on Main Street in Osterville.
