Here are the essential things to know in the town of Barnstable this week.
Last Month of Art Shanties
The Hyannis Harbor Art Shanties will be open through the end of September. The artwork will be on display at Ocean Street, Bismore Park, seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Planning Board Meeting
The Planning Board will meet at Town Hall on Monday night at 7.
Friday Jazz
The Bob Hayes Band will perform jazz at the Grand Cru Wine Bar & Grill, inside the Cape Codder Resort & Spa, 1225 Iyannough Road, Hyannis, on Friday night beginning at 8.
