Furry Affair Raises $85K for MSPCA

From Bobby Orr to Osterville bigwigs, the Furry Affair helped the MSPCA raise critical funds.

The MSPCA-Angell’s “Furry Affair”---a night of celebrating animals and animal lovers on Cape Cod—took place the evening of Saturday, June 2 at the Wianno Club in Osterville, Mass.

More than 200 animal lovers joined the party to raise funds for MSPCA-Centerville’s ongoing animal rehabilitation and adoption efforts on the Cape.  The event featured numerous auctions and raffles and raised about $85,000, $25,000 resulting from a high-profile “bidding war” for golf with former Boston Bruins star Bobby Orr.

Guests included a “who’s who” of the Cape’s business, culture and celebrity scene including: Bobby Orr; MSPCA-Angell President Carter Luke of Sandwich and his wife Penny; Marjorie and John McGraw of Osterville—who were honored along with their children with the Guardian Angel Award to recognize their incredible volunteering efforts; Margaret Desantis Aheam and Kevin Aheam of Osterville; Holly Hoyt Crissan of Osterville; Deb Doe of Osterville; District Attorney Michael O’Keefe; and members of the Helinga & Tate Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors.
