Pot Shop Decisions Due This Week

The state is expected to winnow its list of more than 100 applicants to as many as 35 licensed medical marijuana operations.

The state is expected to approve as many as 35 medical marijuana dispensaries by the end of the week, according to the Associated Press via the Herald.

About 100 groups have applied to the Department of Public Health for the licenses to open medical pot shops around the state.

The licenses are being awarded by county, with at least one and no more than five per county.

Barnstable is in Barnstable County, where the following groups have applied for licenses:

Isn't it ironic that the state of MA is more concerned with the licensing of "pot palors" and they prohibit cigarette smoking in public places because of second hand smoke! We really haven't vetted the dangers of chronic pot smoking! Perhaps we should before we legalize it for recreational use!

Maris, pot has been around for quite a while and there are many studies about its ling term use. The state has done the right thing with smok kids Nguyen in public, and the same rules will apply for pot. It shouldn't be the government's job to tell individuals how to live their lives. When that conduct intrudes on others is the time for that.
