Yarmouth Man Arrested with Heroin, Oxycontin at Cape Cod Mall

A Yarmouth man was arrested in the Cape Cod Mall parking lot by members of the Barnstable Street Crime Unit.

John M. Benevides, 30, of Yarmouth, was charged with possession of heroin and oxycontin after he was stopped by officers at Cape Cod Mall on Thursday afternoon.

Officers approached Benevides because he was walking between cars and looking suspicious.

Benevides was in possession of a knife and a presumption bottle with another person's name on it. The bottle contained two small bags of heroin and two oxycontin pills.
