Two-Alarm Fire at Hyannis Apartment Building, Residents Evacuated

A fire broke out in an apartment building at 174 Main St. in Hyannis Saturday shortly before 5 p.m.

Residents have been evacuated from a two-story apartment building in Hyannis Saturday evening after a fire broke out shortly before 5 p.m.

According to reports, several fire engines responded to the scene at 174 Main St. and a second alarm was struck around 5:15 p.m.

The Cape Cod Times reports a fire official at the scene said it's unclear whether there were any injuries, although EMTs were seen carrying a gurney toward the building.

The American Red Cross says volunteers from Harwich and Hyannis were already heading to the scene.
