UPDATE: Water Search Turned Into Recovery Mission for Barnstable Man Missing In Maine

On Christmas Eve, Maine Marine Patrol units found clothing items of one of the missing men on the rocks of one of the small islands off Cape Porpoise in Kennebunkport.

UPDATE: 5:00 pm: At 4pm today, Maine Marine Patrol and its dive team completed searching for Prescott Wright of Barnstable and Sachary Wells of Vt.for the day.

Maine police are suspending the search due to an approaching winter storm.

The Kennebunkport Police Department asks that any unusual sightings along the coast be reported. Contact Kennebunkport Police Chief Craig A. Sanford at 207-967-2454 with any information.

The search for Prescott Wright,23, of Barnstable and Zachary Wells, 21, of Vermont, students at the Landing School, a boat building school in Arundel, Maine, has turned into a recovery mission.

The two men have been missing since early morning Thursday, Dec. 20, after a party at Well's house in Maine, according to Kennebunkport Police Chief Craig A. Sanford.

On Christmas Eve, Maine Marine Patrol units found clothing items of one of the missing men on the rocks of one of the small islands off Cape Porpoise in Kennebunkport.

Units of the Marine patrol will be in the area of Cape Porpoise to use sonar equipment and possibly dive units to further search for Zachary Wells and Prescott Wright who have been missing for one week, according to a statement by Chief Sandford released Monday.

The focus will be near the area where clothing was found early on Christmas Eve.

"Any type of water search has transitioned into a recovery operation in hopes of finding the missing men or any explanation for their disappearance on the water," according to the statement from Chief Sanford.
