Roll-over Crash in Hyannis Takes Down Flagpoles

A one-car roll-over crash late Monday night on Main Street and Old Colony Road in Hyannis knocked down three flagpoles, the Cape Cod Times reports.

The driver was traveling "west on Main Street, just beyond the intersection of Old Colony Road. The car veered left and onto the lawn of TD Bank, knocking down three flagpoles, and then it continued left across Old Colony Road and landed on its roof against a hotel fence," the Times writes.

The driver, Gregory Nearhos, 51, of Sandwich, was taken to the Cape Cod Hospital but shortly released, the Times writers. Police say the crash could have been caused by a medical condition, and the incident is still under investigation.
