'Drive to Nowhere' Leads to Drug Arrest

Police arrested a West Yarmouth man for possession of oxycodone and underage drinking.

Street Crimes Unit made a drug arrest while surveilling the Centerville Plaza on Wednesday after watching a "ride to nowhere" - a typical way to conduct a drug transaction, police said.

Police arrested Christopher Leone, 20, of 20 Jacquline Cr., W. Yarmouth for possession of a class B substance (oxycodone) with intent to distribute, minor possession of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with an open container.

The Street Crimes Unit watched a female exit her vehicle and get into Leone's PT Cruiser and drive in a circle around the busy parking lot ending back at her car. The female exited Leone's car and got into hers, police said.

Police conducted motor vehicle stops on both cars. They found an open alcoholic beveage in Leone's cup holder and five oxycodone pills in a small plastic baggie. The females told police they were there to buy pills from Leone, the release stated.
