District Attorney Will Not Identify Body Found Behind Cape Cod Mall

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said Wednesday that he will not identify the man found dead in a pond behind the Cape Cod mall "out of respect for the family," the Cape Cod Times reported.

The man was found dead with his head partially submerged in the pond and was surrounded by several cans of pressurized gas used to clean computer keyboards, O'Keefe said.

Located between the mall and Route 28, the pond is one of three that borders parking lots and a road that runs through mall property.

The man was one of four dead bodies to be discovered in public in the last two weeks.

A former Secret Service agent was found dead Wednesday night on East Sandwich Beach. On Saturday morning, a Centerville man appeared to have suffered a heart attack and was found on Sandy Neck Beach. On July 2, a South Yarmouth man was found in Flax Pond, according to the Cape Cod Times.
