Body on Sandy Neck Identified, Heart Attack Suspected

Police have identified the body found on Sandy Neck Beach Saturday morning as Centerville resident Michael Klun, who appeared to have suffered a heart attack.

According to police, Klun called a friend early Saturday morning and said he had chest pains. When the friend arrived around 6:03 a.m., he found the body next to Klun's boat that had been grounded on a sandbar in Barnstable Harbor, the Cape Cod Times reported.

When police arrived on scene at 6:19 a.m., they deemed it unnecessary to resuscitate him.

The man was familiar with the waters and regularly went boating, Barnstable police Sgt. Sean Sweeney said. He had complained to his wife of chest pains in the previous weeks, Sweeney said.

Foul play is not suspected.
