Chatham Man Arrested For Selling Prescription Drugs in TJ Maxx Parking Lot

Barnstable police discovered 18 prescription pills on a Chatham man Friday afternoon after they witnessed him make a drug deal in the Hyannis TJ Maxx parking lot.

Police arrested Otis Reed, 40, of Chatham, who police describe as a "known drug dealer." Reed was charged with operating a motor vehicle after license suspension, possession of a class C substance with intent to distribute, and distributing/dispensing a class B Substance, according to police.

According to the report, Barnstable Police Detective Colin Kelley was conducting surveillance in the TJ Maxx parking lot when he witnessed Reed conduct two hand-to-hand drug transactions with "known drug dealers." 

When Reed was pulled over in Centerville, police discovered four Clonopin tablets, 14 8-miligram Suboxone strips and $60, the report stated. 

Reed admitted to selling Suboxone strips in the parking lot, police reported.

Reed was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Aug. 3 and held on a $2,500 cash bail.
