Body Found in Pond Behind Cape Cod Mall

A body was found in a pond behind the Cape Cod Mall Tuesday, the Cape Cod Times reported.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said his office knew the deceased person's identity but is not releasing it at this time. He told the Cape Cod Times the death did not appear suspicious and will have more information after the medical examiner's autospy, which will occur in Boston or at the medical examiner's Sandwich facility.

Located between the mall and Route 28, the pond is one of three that borders parking lots and a road that runs through mall property.

This is the third body to be found in a body of water this summer. On Saturday morning, a Centerville man appeared to have suffered a heart attack and was found on Sandy Neck Beach. On July 2, a South Yarmouth man was found in Flax Pond, according to the Cape Cod Times.
