Barnstable Police to Host 'Kids Day' Wednesday

Children in Barnstable will have the chance to learn about their local police officers, see demonstrations of equipment and enjoy free refreshments at the Barnstable Police Department's "Kids Day".

The event, scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Barnstable High School, will feature a variety of family-friendly demonstrations of equipment, such as the Jaws of Life and a K-9 unit, as well as a SWAT team demonstration and more.

The first 1,000 children to attend will receive free hot dogs, ice cream, soda and a beach towel.
