Armed Robbery of Pizzeria an Inside Job, Police Say

Police said worker Pizza 1 & Subs 2 worker Kathleen Lehane helped stage the robbery.

Barnstable police said the armed robbery of the Pizza 1 & Subs 2 restaurant in Marston Mills Monday was an inside job.

Kathleen Lehane, 26, of Cotuit, worked at the restaurant and helped stage the robbery, police said. Her accomplice, Travis French, 28, of Centerville, robbed the establishment at knifepoint and took $400, police said.

"The plan went askew when French arrived later than planned to commit the robbery," police said in a statement. "Because of the late arrival, Lehane was not at the counter and was in the back of the restaurant washing dishes."

Police said Detectives Jason Laber and Kevin Connolly interviewed Lehane and uncovered the alleged conspiracy.

Both Lehane and French were charged with armed robbery. French was held on $15,000 bail and Lehane was held on $5,000. Police said they anticipate making another arrest.
