Nuclear Regulatory Commission Increases Oversight of Pilgrim Nuclear

The third quarter performance report indicated Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant had two shutdowns with complications so far in 2013.

Due to complications during unplanned shutdowns, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission will increase oversight on the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, according to capecodonline.com.

While compiling its third quarter performance reports, the NRC concluded the Pilgrim has two shutdowns with complications, what should be a rare occurrence, so far in 2013.

The finding will mean further inspections by the NRC to find the reason for the shutdowns.
