Dennis Selectmen Choose Cape Commission Over Voters

SOME DENNIS SELECTMEN ATTEMPT TO UNDEMOCRATICALLY 'SILENCE' TOWN VOTERS

 

By a vote that was NOT unanimous, the Dennis Board of Selectmen, lead by an obviously angry Selectman Wayne Bergeron, voted to recommend against the citizens petitioned town meeting warrant article pertaining to withdrawal from the Cape Cod Commission, and thereby to deny Town of Dennis voters their constitutional right to vote upon the issue via a future ballot question referendum.

It was only by the wise and honorable action to place "a hold" on the warrant article by the Chairman of the Town Finance Committee that the matter was reserved a place for debate at either another future BOS meeting/Finance Committee Meeting, or at the Annual Town Meeting itself.

Cape Cod Commission tyrants and political cronies exist in all shapes and  sizes, and political positions as well, even as a Dennis Selectman who must have misunderstood the content of the Town Meeting Warrant Article in question.
