Six Hyannis Organizations Receive Project Bread Grants

Six Hyannis-based programs received funding from Project Bread for hunger relief.

Project Bread recently awarded $1.79 million in grants to 365 programs across Massachusetts. Six of the organizations who received funding for hunger relief are located in Hyannis.

Project Bread provided grants to 18 programs on the Cape and Islands for a total of $50,000.

“Hunger is a very real, chronic condition in our state,” said Ellen Parker, Executive Director of Project Bread. “There is no typical hungry person. And we know that it takes more than one solution to solve a problem as complex, and yet as personal, as hunger. Each of the organizations we funded provides a critical role in helping to solve hunger in the community.”

The grant recipients in Hyannis are listed below:

  • Cape Cod Child Development’s Emergency Food Pantry
  • Harbor Community Health Center
  • NOAH’s Emergency Shelter Food Program
  • Nam Vets Association of the Cape & Islands, Inc’s  Food Pantry
  • The Salvation Army’s Miracle Kitchen and Food Pantry
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Food Pantry
