Never Forget a Driver's License Renewal Again

The Registry of Motor Vehicle will once again send reminder cards to drivers.

Written by Roberto Scalese

The commonwealth's forgetful drivers will finally receive some help: Starting this week, the Registry of Motor Vehicles will once again mail out reminders about re-registering your car and getting a new driver's license.

The registry used to send the reminders all the time, but a budget crunch five years ago ended the practice. The mailings are back, albeit with some sponsorship messages to help defray the cost.

Licenses are good for five years, and you need to take a new picture every 10 years. The reminder card will tell you if you can renew online or if you have to come in person for the photo and renewal.
