High Wind Watch in Effect Tonight Through Saturday Evening

Cape and Islands could see winds up to 50 mph

The National Weather Center has issued a High Wind Watch for the Cape Cod and the Islands from late tonight through tomorrow evening.

There is the potential for strong damaging winds from the west at 25 – 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph in Barnstable and the rest of the Cape.

Winds will increase through the evening and be strongest during the day on Saturday.

A high wind watch means there is the potential for strong, damaging winds that are capable of downing trees and power lines as well as causing property damage.

As of now the Steamship Authority has not cancelled any boats. Any new updates on schedule changes or cancellations can be found on the Steamship Authority website.
