Cape Cod Hospital Introduces New Chief of Cardiac Surgery

The acting Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Cape Cod Hospital will take the position full time.

Cape Cod Healthcare and Brigham and Women's Hospital recently announced that Dr. Paul Pirundini will be the new Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Cape Cod Hospital.

Dr. Pirundini has served as acting chief since August and has worked at the hospital for nine years.

Michael Lauf, President and CEO, Cape Cod Healthcare, made the following statement on the appointment:

“Our Cardiac Surgery program exemplifies our mission to provide access to top-quality care close to home, and to partner with others in order to bring a high level of service to our community. Our cardiac surgery partnership with BWH has been successful from the start, and I am confident that under Dr. Pirundini’s leadership the cardiac surgery team will continue the program’s strong record of quality outcomes and performance.”
