Barnstable Named Sixth Happiest and Healthiest City in US
Barnstable made the top ten list based on Gallup's annual wellbeing index.
Residents in Barnstable are among the happiest and healthiest in America, according to a Business Insider analysis of Gallup's annual wellbeing index.
Barnstable landed in the sixth spot this year, after being ranked 11th in 2011.
The index ranks wellbeing by Life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and access to basic necessities
Barnstable came in second in 2013 in work evaluation, but 86th in life evaluation, according to Business Insider.
Gallup surveyed 353,563 adults in the U.S. Metro areas are based on the Metropolitan Statistical Areas defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget to create the list.
