Pink ladders covered in bras are currently set up outside the Barnstable and West Barnstable Fire Stations. The unique displays are part of "Bra-toberfest," a fundraising effort to collect bras and donations during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The competition between the two fire houses will result in most of the money going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the rest to the International Association of Firefighters Charitable Foundations. The bras collected will be placed on pink ladders and burned at the end of the month, according to capecodonline.com.
Not everyone is thrilled with the execution of the fundraiser.
