World Premiere of "Medium: Rare" by Nick Lazott

“Medium: Rare,” by Nick Lazott and directed by Jeffrey Billard, follows Julian, a sardonic young man with a distaste for both his companions and his surroundings, and a puzzling reluctance to change either. A chance encounter with an unsuspecting medium might just unlock the chains holding Julian back, but can he take the first step toward his final destiny?

This dark comedy received two workshop readings as part of the college’s “Play With Your Food” new play series and is written by local playwright and continuing CCCC student, Nick Lazott. The production at CCCC will be the play’s world premiere, and will be entered for consideration in the 2014 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (Region 1), which returns to the college campus in January 2014.

The show opens in the Studio Theatre of the Tilden Arts Center on Thursday November 7th at 7:00 pm with an opening night reception immediately following the performance. The run continues Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 and Sundays at 2:00 through November 24th.

A talk-back with the playwright, director and actors will be held on November 17th immediately following the matinee performance.

Evening performance tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for CCCC faculty/staff/students with “pay-what-you-can” Sunday matinees.

Tickets may be reserved by calling the College Box Office at 508-375-4044.
