Come to the Marstons Mills Public Library to learn how to make Egyptian Canopic jars.
In ancient Egypt, Canopic jars were an important part of the mummification process. For each Pharaoh, the body's internal organs were carefully stored in these jars. There were always four jars, representing the four sons of the god Horus - four protective spirits - human, baboon, falcon, and jackal.
You will learn how these jars were made, and have the chance to make one yourself. Materials will be supplied.
