Teen Hit by Car, Taken to Hospital with Serious Injuries

A car struck a high school girl this morning in Centerville. She was taken to a Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The high school student was crossing the street to get to her bus when the car struck her, according to Barnstable Police.

The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Old Stage Rd. and Patriot Way.

The girl was driven to a Rhode Island hospital with serious injuries.

I was in the second car behind the bus and saw the whole thing. It was horrific!! The driver of the car that struck her didn't even slow down prior to hitting her. The victim was thrown approxiamtely 40 feet and ended up next to the car immediately behind the bus and just ahead of where I was stopped. The bus was fully stopped with lights flashing. I hope the girl is going to have a full recovery, but I have no doubt her injuries are quite serious given the violence of the impact. Wow. Not Good.

This is why anyone over 75 should be required to take more exams to ensure this from continuing to happen

Thanks Chris for your thoughts and concerns. We check in on Rosa everyday and she has a very long road to recovery. It is nice to know she has friends like you!

My prayers are with your daughter. My daughter lives in Marstons Mills I would hate to see my grandchildren in the same situation.
