National Marine Life Center Releases Seal

The National Marine Life Center in Buzzard's Bay released the first seal treated at the center's new marine animal hospital building Sunday.

The seal, Major Margaret “Hotlips” Houlihan was taken in by the NMLC November 12. Hotlips was dehydrated, emaciated and suffering from severely infected facial wounds, according to a press release.

Over nearly two months of treatment Hotlips overcame her ailments thanks to the dedicated staff at the NMLC. Hotlips was released back to the wild Sunday at Scussett Beach in Sagamore.
