Cape Cod Baby Could be First New Year Baby in the State
A baby born at Cape Cod Hospital early New Year's Day could be the first born in the state in 2013.
The first Cape Cod New Year’s baby was born to Marie Meritus at 5 seconds after midnight at Cape Cod Hospital, according to hospital spokesperson Robin Lord. Baby Meritus took the top spot from a baby born at Newton Wellesley Hospital at 12:08 a.m., according to the Cape Cod Times.
At Falmouth Hospital the first birth of the New Year was a baby girl born to Ashley Andrade of Falmouth and Carlos Jurado of the Bronx, NY at 12:28 a.m. New Year’s Day.
