Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank Opens Falmouth Branch

June 2 - 14 Opening Celebration To Include

Public Invited To Family Barbecue on Saturday, June 14 

Falmouth, MA --  Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank opened its newest full service branch on Monday, June 2.  Located at 397 Palmer Avenue in Falmouth, the 3000 square foot Cape Cod style facility offers a complete range of financial services, including checking, savings, home equity loans, business loans, mortgages, CDs, money market accounts, safe deposit rentals, estate planning, trust and asset management, investment tools and more. 

This new branch not only expands banking accessibility for local residents, but also provides added convenience for those traveling to and from the Vineyard.

Dedicated to providing the ultimate in personalized, community banking, Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank is hosting a special two week Opening Celebration from June 2 – 14 featuring giveawaysspecial offers, complimentary document shredding and a Family Barbecue

Including the purchase price of the building and additional renovations, Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank has made an investment of $1.5 million in the new Falmouth property.  The opening adds a half dozen new jobs to Falmouth. Managing the branch will be Elsa Vieira, who brings 27 years of banking experience to her new position. David Weston is Vice President, Trust Officer.  

The Palmer Avenue branch marks the Bank's ninth location: seven on the island of Martha's Vineyard plus a branch in Woods Hole, which opened in 2009.  Voted Best of the Vineyard for 12 consecutive years, Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank is also the home of the Martha's Vineyard Financial Group.  With a history that extends back more than a century, Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank continues to fulfill its customers comprehensive financial needs, on-island and off.

The Bank’s two-week Opening Celebration will showcase the following:

• Customer Appreciation Giveaways will include the opportunity to win an iPad and a Flat Screen TV, as well as Red Sox and New England Patriots Putnam Club tickets.  Entries may be submitted in the lobby of the Falmouth bank.  The drawing is open to all.  Winning entries will be drawn on June 14.

• The Palmer Branch Grand Opening Special Six Month CD. Saturday, June 14   
  A Family Barbecue 
The Opening Celebration culminates with the Bank hosting a complimentary Family Barbecue at 397 Palmer Avenue on Flag Day, SaturdayJune 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public and will include food, beverages, entertainment, activities for the kids and more

 will broadcast live from the event and give away an additional pair of Red Sox tickets, courtesy of the radio station. 

Complimentary Document Shredding Event

As a community service (and simultaneous with the Family Barbecue), the Bank will host a complimentary Document Shredding Event on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

The proper disposal of documents containing sensitive, personal information is a major step in preventing identify theft.  The public is encouraged to bring old bills, checks, Bank statements, legal documents and more to be shredded free of charge. To accommodate as many individuals as possible, customers will be limited to two standard storage/banker boxes of documents per person.  Shredding services will be provided by Cintas Document Management
