Bernard “Bernie” Milton, a former Secret Service agent for President Johnson, was found dead Wednesday night at East Sandwich Beach, the Cape Cod Times reported.
Police performed CPR on Milton, 80, when they arrived on scene. He was later pronounced dead at the Cape Cod Hospital.
Sandwich Police Chief Peter Wack said it is unclear if he suffered a medical condition or drowned.
This is the fourth body to have been found in an area of water in two weeks on Cape Cod.
Last Saturday morning, a Centerville man appeared to have suffered a heart attack and was found on Sandy Neck Beach. On July 2, a South Yarmouth man was found in Flax Pond, according to the Cape Cod Times. On Tuesday, an unidentified man was found dead in a pond behind the Cape Cod Mall.
