MSPCA-Centerville Adoptable Pet of the Week: Amber the dog

Four-year-old Amber is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet, and she’s currently bunking down at the MSPCA-Centerville adoption center on Cape Cod, where staffers hope to find a permanent loving home for her.

Amber, a Pit Bull mix, was used as a breeding dog; her puppies were taken from her and sold for profit.  After she could no longer bear any more puppies Amber was tossed onto the street, where she was later found to a tree.  That’s when a good Samaritan got her to the MSPCA.

Because Amber is still young she has a lot of energy.  MSPCA staffers are looking for an active owner who will be sure to give her plenty of exercise and take her on long walks.  Amber also loves the water.  Ever since she arrived at the shelter she has been fascinated with it.  Her favorite thing to do is go on walks and play in the sprinklers.  She would love to go to a home where she can go to the beach and splash around in the water.

Although Amber will need plenty of exercise she would do well in a more relaxing atmosphere at home, she can live with older dogs that are calm and can cuddle up with. She loves kids but the staff thinks that older kids would be a better fit for her.  Amber has been spayed, is up to date on all of her shots and will be microchipped before she goes to her forever home.
