LoveLocal Fest Returns to Aselton Park on Sunday, August 25: Free and Family Friendly Fun on the Hyannis Harborfront

Celebrate community with local artisans, farmers, food trucks, musicians, children’s activities and more!

Hyannis, MA (August 19, 2013) – Locals and visitors alike are invited to LoveLocal Fest, a day of free, family-friendly activities on Sunday, August 25 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Aselton Park on the Hyannis Harbor. The second in a series of three summer festival days sponsored by Cape Cod lifestyle guide LoveLiveLocal, LoveLocal Fest is intended to complement the activities in the Hyannis HyArts Cultural District and celebrate the Cape’s creative energy as well as its natural abundance.

LoveLiveLocal co-founder Jen Villa explains, “LoveLocal Fest is a fun way to share our passion for connecting the Cape Cod community and its visitors with the talented artisans, designers, farmers, food trucks, and other independent creators that make our sandbar special.”

Event Highlights

LoveLocal Fest brings together the best the Cape has to offer in a beautiful setting on the harbor, walking distance from the shops and restaurants of Hyannis Main Street. Bring your family, your friends, your dog, a beach chair or a blanket, and enjoy a beautiful day getting to know your local community.

Attendees can expect many of the same vendors featured at the popular July LoveLocal Fest as well as some exciting new additions. Event highlights include:

§  Local food all day from favorites such as Fiddlestix gourmet food trolley, Lewis Brothers homemade ice cream, Something Sweet cupcake bus, Common Ground Café, The Wicked Quahog and Kayak Cookies/Salty Oats

§  Locally grown produce from Farm Fare Market, Backyard Gardens and Red Lion Farm

§  Local vendors including Adrift, ARTichoke, Cabo Cado, Cape Cod Organic Moms, Little Beach Gallery, Lucia Moon Designs, Modern Vintage Design Studio, Mosees, Optimist Co., Ports & Co., Shift Eco-Boutique, Shine, SoHo Arts, Tiffany Jazelle, Woodside Woolies, Wicked Cape, a lifestyle brand for sophisticated beach bums, and more!

§  Musical performances all day on the LoveListenLocal stage, including singer/songwriters Kathleen Healy, Todd Nickerson (of 6 East), Molly Parmenter, Jim Lough (of Riley Coyote), Ryan Benoit and Dan Helman of Chicken Fry, and transplanted Londoner DJ Sinnetti. WOMR, the Cape’s outermost community radio station, will also be on hand.

§  Lawn games and activities, including a return of Cape Cod Child Development’s popular “Kids’ Zone” and introducing Cape Cod Organic Moms
