Free Fun on the Hyannis Harbor: LoveLocal Fest to Debut July 28 at Aselton Park

Celebrate community along the Hyannis Harborfront with local artisans, farmers, food trucks, musicians, and The Current Quarterly’s Summer Fashion Show!

The first-ever LoveLocal Fest brings the best of Cape Cod to the Hyannis Harborfront this summer season with events at Aselton Park on July 28, August 25 and September 29, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on each date.  The free, family-friendly festivities, sponsored by LoveLiveLocal, are intended to complement the activities in the Hyannis HyArts Cultural District by celebrating Cape Cod’s creative energy as well as its natural abundance.

“We are thrilled to share our passion for local living by connecting the community and visitors to the Cape with our incredibly talented local artisans, designers, farmers, food trucks, and other independent makers in a fun, informal environment,” says LoveLiveLocal co-founder Jen Villa.

LoveLocal Fest participants include Cape Cod favorites such as Fiddlestix gourmet food trolley, Lewis Brothers homemade ice cream, Something Sweet cupcake bus, Backyard Gardens, Farm Fare Market, ARTichoke, Cabo Cado, Cape Chic, Ellie Kai, Lucia Moon Designs, Savvy, Shawl, Shift Eco-Boutique, TK Perry, Weekend, and more. Music performances will happen all day, from local singer/songwriters Alicia Mathewson, Brendan Princi and Todd Nickerson (of 6 East), JO&CO vocalist Joanna Meager, transplanted Londoner DJ Sinnetti, jazz vocalist Cerise Bynoe, and Cape Harmony, the Cape premiere women’s a cappella group.

“You can make a day of it by strolling from Main Street to the festival, checking out both our participants as well as local boutiques and restaurants. LoveLocal Fest’s casual layout lends itself to a relaxing day on the waterfront, capped off with a wonderful benefit show,” Villa explains.

Highlighting the July 28 LoveLocal Fest will be the summer fashion show of The Current Quarterly, Cape Cod’s first and only publication focusing on local style and fashion. Highlighting local boutiques, the fashion show will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. behind the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, adjacent to Aselton Park. Tickets for the fashion show are $20 and are available in advance at Shift Eco-Boutique and The Little Beach Gallery, 535 and 539 South Street in Hyannis, or at the door. All proceeds benefit the Maritime Museum, whose mission includes preserving the rich maritime traditions and history of Cape Cod and the Islands.
