UMass Boston Dean to Speak at Cape Cod Community College

Here are five things you need to know Tuesday, Oct. 1.

1. Tuesday will be sunny with a high around 69, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Dr. Robyn Hannigan, the Dean of the School for the Environment at UMass Boston, will speak at Cape Cod Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 1, as part of the STEM and Entrepreneurship Speaker Series, "No Boundaries: Transforming Environmental Education." The event will start at 11 a.m. in the  Lorusso Technology Solarium, 2240 Iyannough Road.

3. The Barnstable Conservation Commission will hold a hearing Tuesday night at 6:30 in the Town Hall Hearing Room.

4. The Sturgis Library has changed its displays for October. Handcrafted items by Elizabeth Nastal and Dia de los Muertos items from the collections of Joyce Prince will be on display this month.

5. The Town Library Committee will meet this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
