Students to Present the Works of William Shakespeare in Marstons Mills Wednesday

A roundup of five things to know in Barnstable for Wednesday, Aug. 14.

1. The Barnstable High School Drama Department will present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Marstons Mills Public Library. The event will feature all 37 of Shakespeare's plays, meant to be performed in 97 minutes. Admission is free.

2. Game 1 of the Cape League championship series was postponed on Tuesday, due to rain, and has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Lowell Park, where Orleans will take on Cotuit for the series opener. Game 2 has been scheduled for Thursday at Orleans at 7 p.m., according to CapeCodOnline

3. Barnstable's Growth Management Department will hold a public hearing Wednesday in an effort to obtain public input regarding the draft Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) for 2012. The hearing will take place at 3 p.m. in the Selectmen's Conference Room at Barnstable Town Hall.
