Red Raiders Face New Bedford, Strike Out Breast Cancer

5 Things is a daily snapshot roundup of information on events, happenings and other news in town.

Here are five things you need to know Friday, Oct. 4.

1. It will be mostly cloudy in Barnstable on Friday. The high will be around 71.

2. The Barnstable High School football team will travel to New Bedford Friday night for a showdown on the gridiron. Kick off is at 7 p.m.

3. Ryan Family Amusements, 1067 Rte. 28, So. Yarmouth, will host a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, on Friday evening. The "Strike Out Breast Cancer and Spare Lives" bowl-a-thon will start at 6 p.m. Admission is a donation of $25 per lane per hour for up to four people.

4. Gail Porciello will perform Friday and Saturday evening at The Paddock Restaurant & Bar, 20 Scudder Avenue, Hyannis. Porciello will perform piano and vocals each weekend, through Nov. 9.

5. This weekend will be mostly cloudy, according to the National Weather Service. Saturday's high will be near 68 and Sunday's will be around 70.
