Precinct 12, Precinct 9 and Ballot Question Debates Set for Thursday

Here are five things you need to know Thursday, Oct. 24.

1. The skies will gradually get sunny Thursday in Barnstable, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be near 55 degrees.

2. A debate on Barnstable's lone ballot question, the non-binding initiative to close Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, will be debated on channel 18 at 6 p.m. The debate is presented by the Barnstable Patriot.

3. The Barnstable Patriot Town Council Debates will continue Thursday night with debates between Precinct 12 Councilor John Norman and challenger Don Lynde and Precinct 9 Councilor James Tinsley Jr. and challenger Tim Ferreira. The event will air at 7 p.m. on channel 18.

4. Crews will be paving Corporation Street and Enterprise Road in Hyannis Thursday. Work will start at 7 a.m. and should be complete by 5 p.m.

5.A freestyle Lego craft session will take place at the Sturgis Library Thursday, beginning at 3:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to drop in.
