Election Day, Author Talks at Local Libraries

Here are the five things you need to know Tuesday, Nov. 5.

1. Tuesday will be mostly sunny in Barnstable, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be near 50.

2. Barnstable Town Election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5. The polls in all 13 precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

3. Joe Hurley, who's book “Ten Million Steps on Route 6” chronicles his walking journey from Cape Cod to California, will speak at the Sturgis Library on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is requested for this free event.

4. Author J. Richard Watkins will speak at the Hyannis Public Library on Tuesday, November 5 about his book "Vietnam: No Regrets: One Soldier’s Tour of Duty." The event will start at 6:30 p.m

5. The Barnstable School Committee will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
